A gold is just deserts for Bayer Garden at BBC ‘Gardeners’ World Live!’
'Designed by David Domoney from ITV1’s This Morning programme, this garden is his second in collaboration with Bayer. The first was the silver gilt medal winning underwater floral display at the Chelsea Flower Show this year, which has been followed by ‘Bayer Garden – Situs Hortus’, which mirrors this concept with plants surviving in drought conditions.
Tommy Gill, Head of Bayer Garden said: “We are delighted to have won a gold medal and it was a great honour for me to pick up the award for the most innovative show garden. The garden looks fabulous and I’m thrilled the judges think so too. A lot of thought, time and effort has been put into the garden and I’m positive the visitors to the show will be fascinated by the design concept.
David added: “Both ‘Bayer Garden – Situs Hortus’ at BBC Gardeners’ World Live and ‘Aqua Hortus with Bayer’ at the Chelsea Flower Show presented me with a unique opportunity as neither had ever been created before. I’m delighted and proud to say that we developed the first underwater garden swiftly followed by the first desert garden. Brilliant!”
BBC Gardeners’ World Live runs from 11 to 15 June at the NEC in Birmingham. See ‘Bayer Garden - Situs Hortus’ on stand number GA3.
